Happy New Year from Tequila, Lime, No Salt. We hope your holidays were a time with family and friends. The band took a break during the holidays with Rick traveling out west to see his son while the rest of the band hung out with friends and family.

2010 will be an interesting year with the economy still struggling. We hope to continue to help you get through the year by "Rocking The House" at our favorite venues in SW Missouri. No trip planned out of state but it is early.

On October 24, 2009 280+ fans came out to support Tequila, Lime, No Salt's one night in Kent, Ohio. Celebrating the 21st birthdays of Taylor and Dominic, the crowd rocked the house until 2:30 A.M.. TLNS threw the kitchen sink at them with driving blues and rock & roll tunes as they danced the night away.

Truly a memorial event the band will never forget and will be talking about for years to come.

To those that were in attendance and read this post, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Tequila, Lime, No Salt CD Coming in September

Somehow Tequila, Lime, No Salt found an opening in their busy schedule to complete their first CD. Currently being mixed down by Mark Sebastian and Sound Engineer, Chad Bolin, the finished product is just around the corner. Stay tuned for the CD Party in September, details to follow.

We had a great time playing at Turtleheads Raw Bar in Joplin a couple of weeks ago and will definitely add that venue to our normal schedule.

We scheduled a return visit to The Blackbird Grill on Saturday, September 19 from 9:30 - 1:00. We hope to match or beat the attendance record we set there the 1st time.

On October 23 we head to Ohio for a birthday bash at The Robin Hood in Kent, Ohio. Home of Kent State University, the start of Joe Walsh's career, and home town of TLNS lead guitarist Rick Scherer, this will be a night to remember. Rick's son turns 21 that weekend. It will be a great crowd of young and "mature" fans.

Finally, it's back to Springfield Brewing on November 7 from 10:00 to 1:00 as we look forward to some MSU students and friends joining us on that Saturday.

A lot is going on as we come out of Summer and, as always, look forward to seeing you at our gigs.

Tequila, Lime, No Salt will be heading to Joplin, MO to entertain the patrons of Turtleheads Raw Bar, a popular watering hole just off I44. Turtleheads has a great Cajun style menu and live entertainment Thursday - Saturday. TLNS will be playing Friday and Saturday, August 7&8.

Relay For Life Benefit

Tequila, Lime, No Salt and EFCO, a Pella Company combined forces to put on a musical night to raise money to fight cancer. We had a quality crowd that showed their generosity by contributing well over $1,000!

The event took place at the VFW in Monett, MO and included a Chili cook off, silent auction, and performances by EFCO's best employees. All went really well and we look forward to continuing this effort in the future.

TLNS will perform on April 25 for the EFCO Awards Event which honors EFCO employees with at least 5 years of service. This is the second time TLNS has had the pleasure to provide the entertainment for this event. We look forward to soliciting new members of the "Pips".

Great Crowd At Freda Mae's

March 27, 2009 Tequila, Lime, No Salt took the stage at Freda Mae's. To date it was our largest crowd. Standing room only kept the staff hopping all night long and smiling all the while as they took in record tips. During our 9:00 p.m. to Midnight time slot we had a blast as the crowd was clearly into having a good time on a Friday night. We posted a special page on our Website to post the pictures captured by Matt Mann of the crowd and staff. It is awesome stuff.

It was cool to see the smiles during these tough times and it makes you realize the simple pleasures of a night out listening to great music is just what the Doctor ordered.

We will definitely return to Freda Mae's later this year and hope to repeat the great night we shared with a great crowd.

We would also like to thank our regular customers & new patrons as well for joining us that night to make it so successful. Being aware of the troubled economy & realizing there are more people in need than ever at this time, we decided to donate $500 of our proceeds from that night to a local food pantry. It's All About The Sound

Tequila, Lime, No Salt is proud to announce the addition of Chad Bolin as Sound Engineer. Chad is an experienced sound tech trained at Ozarks Technical College. He has worked as a sound tech for the Soji Tibushi Theatre in Branson and presently performs as a bass player with the Christian rock band, Resurrected.

Chad joined Tequila, Lime, No-Salt in March and was key to our success at Blackbird Grill on March 7, 2009. Everyone raved about the quality of the sound and Chad was clearly "The Man" that made it happen.

Let's just say it is one more reason to see Tequila, Lime, No-Salt perform on March 27, 2009 at Freda Mae's in Pierce City, MO. We'll play from 9:00 to midnight.

Tequila, Lime, No-Salt Help Raise $5,000

It was proud night for Tequila, Lime, No-Salt to participate in a benefit to raise monies to enable a family member of EFCO to have prosthetic eye surgery not covered by insurance. In total, the benefit generated $5,000 including $1000 donated by Anthony of New York Windows and $2,000 by the Blackbird Restaurant of Aurora, MO. The families who attended the benefit enjoyed a great Chili cook off and a night filled with music including yours truly, Tequila, Lime, No-Salt.

You cannot put a price on the feeling of giving back and this event was truly "PRICELESS". A big thanks to the many who organized the event and to those who were so generous to help this poor man get the surgery he so badly needs.

These are tough times with a lot of uncertainty so it is even more impressive to see the human spirit rise above the turmoil to do the right thing and help a family in need. Awesome!

On Friday, January 9th, we will play a benefit to help one of our EFCO families cover the costs of a pre-existing condition requiring surgery. This event signifies what it is important, our friends in need. We expect to have a huge crowd on hand to help out and have a great time with TLNS.

Road Trip To Kent OH

Did you know it take 13 hours to drive to Kent, OH from Springfield, MO. That just sucks!

Well it was worth the trip to be the main act at your son's fraternity party. Tequila, Lime, No Salt member, Rick Scherer, played into the wee hours with a great group dancing, singing, and, of course, consuming a few beers. No matter your age, music will always erase the barriers of age.

The Sigma Nu fraternity were great hosts for myself and friend, Mike Fletcher (founding member of Fletch and The Catch www.fletchandthecatch.com). Thanks to Mike for coming to my rescue at a moments notice. Mike is a great harmonica and guitar player entertaining the Cleveland, OH crowd.

The Song List Is Growing

Seems like each week when Tequila, Lime, No Salt practice, the song list gets longer. Most bands refine their list as they prepare for the next gig. With our extensive backgrounds, our individual song lists are pretty long. It's a blast to challenge each other to learn something new, figure out the lead and the harmonies. This week it was Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh, Willing by Little Feat, Blue On Black by Kenny Wayne Shepperd and a great original by Mark McManus called Holding On. All great tunes.

So what does that mean to our audiences....

We can cover most musical interests involving Blues, Rock, Country... just no Polka please! It why we say on our business card, "Eagles, Petty, Clapton, Buffet, ...the list goes on". We want you to have the best experience in Acoustic Entertainment. We invite you to sing along, dance .... we may even have you on stage. A fun time is guaranteed.

Word Is Out

The word is out in the greater Springfield area about Tequila, Lime, No Salt and it is flat out exciting. We are contacting Bootleggers in Aurora and Frieda Mae in Pierce City to find dates for "EFCO Night", a regular event. We hope Bootleggers and Frieda Mae are prepared to handle the crowd as the buzz at EFCO is definitely real.

The Holiday season is also creating opportunities as many local companies prepare for their Employee Christmas Party.

The Derek Trucks Band

After a long day at my "day job", I came home to great surprise. A little background first.

A few months ago I traveled to New York on business and was introduced to our Company Representative, Ed Budney. Really nice guy and he took us all over the city introducing us to people who buy and install our products. In a conversation that somehow drifted to music, Ed asked if I had ever heard of Derek Trucks. Ed's son, Blake has this great gig of managing bands and Derek is one of his clients. I said "you've got to be kidding", absolutely I know Derek Trucks. I went on to tell him about the Allman Brothers and Derek's connection (his Uncle is the late Butch Trucks) as well as he's a great a slide guitar player. Ed was blown away and told me he was going to have Blake send me a package of Derek's music. I thanked him and was pretty excited.

Time went by and, no big deal, I did not expect Blake, who doesn't know me from Adam, to send anything. Well, I was wrong and today I received Derek's CD, DVD and a special Eric Clapton DVD made in Chicago in 2007. Nice!

Well Blake, if you do read this I am now your biggest fan and whatever you need to promote Derek in Springfield, MO.... I'm your man.

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live

Last night searching the boob tube selections I ran across HDTV video of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live in New York. If you are an acoustic freak like Tequila, Lime, No Salt, this show was the ultimate in utilizing effects to enhance an already fantastic acoustic duo performance. Playing a ton of Dave Matthews hits, this was a treat. You wonder why Dave and Tim were not the original Dave Matthews Band.

I know I was inspired and can't wait to apply the techniques witnessed to our shows. Although Tequila, Lime, No Salt does not perform Dave Matthews, we will shamelessly copy some great acoustic techniques to enhance our show.

Tequila, Lime, No Salt may have found the missing ingredient in Mark McManus. Mark was a key member of Mark Sebastian's former band Echo Blue handling bass and vocals. Echo Blue had a huge following in SW Missouri rivaling the likes of The Mark Chapman Band. Echo Blue disbanded and Mark hung up his bass for nearly two years until Wednesday, Oct 15th when he joined Mark and Rick in a two hour jam session. Reliving some of the hits of Echo Blue, Mark McManus never lost his touch. Harmonies were spot on and his reputation as one of the best bass players in the area remains in tact. Stay tuned as Tequila, Lime, No Salt evolves into a powerful threesome. Look for Tequila, Lime, No Salt to blow you away with powerful 3-part harmonies as they deliver Eagles, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and orginals by Mark Sebastian / Mark McManus.

It's Alright Now

Well today was better if you follow the market, Dow up over 900 points. You can relax until tomorrow.

Last night I was entertained by a pre-recorded concert of John Mayer. Awesome to watch him perform. Smooth as silk, soulful, and a great band to back him up. Truly he is the real deal reaching the creative skills of an Eric Clapton and the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Tequila, Lime, No Salt cover "Georgia Why". While we seem we do a decent job, watching the original artist fly around on his acoustic was a sight to behold. Very humbling.

Another clip I saw recently was Darrell Hall, unplugged (sort of). Again, I forgot how well he delivers all those great hits. I have to admit, Mark Sebastian does a great version of "Sarah Smile". Watching Darrell Hall perform the original just confirmed my endorsement.

Hard Times

I normally would post about some new music or a gig coming up but I don't think anyone can escape the recent crisis in our country. 401K's crashing as a result of the stock market financial crisis has crippled many who thought retirement was a reality. I am no expert on advice but I do think music is a great diversion to escape the ugly conditions we are experiencing.

So, turn off the TV, strap on the guitar or crank up the tunes and take a break from the stress. Whether you are into country, blues, rock or jazz, each has the same healing power to put your mind in "better place".

Mark and I talked yesterday and more than ever we are going to get this duo cranked up to deliver a high quality musical experience.

Stay tuned and keep your head up, it will get better!

Cross Canadian Ragweed
